Pupils Garden Day 2014
Visit from the Körschtalschule Stuttgart Plieningen
Our student garden is not only known as a place to meet and work together once a week. The same time it is also a location to exchange ideas and learn about planting, eating and cooking, beyond the frontiers of university. At the 5th of July we got a visit from a 3rd primary class with 26 pupils. We had a lot of fun constructing vertical gardens and seed different types of herbs. At the same time a “garden-memory”-game helped to detect vegetables, fruits and insects within the garden, followed by a look into a bee hive. Nothing could top the possibility to hoe and dig soil, investigate roots, larvae and worms. Even the Kräuterquarkvesper at the end had difficulties to top it. We hope pupils enjoyed the garden and took home a flavor of gardening and respect for vegetables, fruits and insects to mention some of the important garden residents.
