Schnippel Disco 2024

FRESH Meeting

At FRESH, we’re all about turning sustainable food practices into fun, community-driven events. This year’s Schnippeldisco was no exception! In partnership with our friends at Gemüsehof Hörz, we gathered on campus to chop, cook, and create delicious meals—all while promoting sustainability and making our university a greener place.

The Schnippeldisco is more than just a cooking event; it’s a celebration of community and creativity. We source fresh, food-safe vegetables from Gemüsehof Hörz, a local organic farm, ensuring that our ingredients are as sustainable as possible. Then, with music playing, students come together to chop and prepare the veggies, turning them into delicious, hearty meals that everyone can enjoy. This year, we created a variety of dishes that showcased the vibrant flavors of seasonal produce, from vegetable stir-fries to colorful salads and warming soups.

This year’s Schnippeldisco was especially meaningful, as it was part of our larger initiative to make the campus more green. By using rescued vegetables and preparing meals together, we not only reduced food waste but also fostered a sense of community and awareness about the importance of sustainable food systems. It’s events like these that show how small actions—like chopping vegetables—can make a big impact when we work together.

A huge thanks to all who participated, and of course, to Gemüsehof Hörz for their ongoing support and partnership. We’re looking forward to more events where we can continue to cook, learn, and grow together. If you missed this Schnippeldisco, be sure to join us next time for more good food, good vibes, and a greener future!
